Launceston audiences loved it so much we have brought it back!
Theatre North is delighted to again present Menopause the Musical® at the Princess Theatre 22-24 September but this time with new songs and more choreography!
During 2008 and 2009 Menopause The Musical® travelled for 71 weeks breaking box office records. It continues to do so in 2010.
Already seen it? Well you’ve never seen the international sensation and #1 Girls’ Night Out like this! The original US playwright Jeanie Linders has revamped this production with a fresh and dynamic new look.
Set in a department store, four women meet by chance at a lingerie sale. They quickly bond and make fun of their hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges – a hilarious celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle, or have survived ‘The Change’.
The attraction to the show is the songs that everyone loves - all sung with gusto and new lyrics - Hot Stuff, I Will Survive, Chain of Fools, My Guy, Good Vibrations, Help Me Rhonda, What’s Love Got to Do With It, California Girls, I Got You Babe and many more…
Boasting four of the best leading ladies of Australian musical theatre, you can expect dynamic vocals and tight performances.
You may remember Maria Mercedes (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chicago, Cats) and her arresting presence on the Princess Theatre stage during the 2008 season. She is now joined by Andrea Creighton (The Phantom of the Opera), Michelle Collins (Billy Elliot The Musical), Jennifer Levy (My Fair Lady) and Carolyn Waddell (Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Oliver). A feast for lovers of musical theatre.
Come and share the experience. We guarantee that you will leave the theatre uplifted and joyous.
So book early, bring your friends and don’t miss out! There is also a special incentive for the person who coordinates a group of 10 or more. You might even like to take advantage of special dinner offers at participating restaurants before the show. AND don’t forget our upstairs bar will be open from 7pm each night for pre show drinks.
Tickets are $45 for adults and $33.75 for concessions.
