WotOpera challenges 80 students, from 4 schools, in just 5 weeks to create an opera from page to stage…
The following high schools are participating in the 2010 WotOpera Launceston program - Brooks High, Exeter High, Queechy High and Scotch Oakburn College.
A group of 20 students from each school have the opportunity to create an original opera and be involved in all aspects of its creation from conception through to performance.
Students participate in: character development, plot creation, writing the libretto, composing the music, casting, paint the backdrops, and performance.
The process allows students to work closely with professional performers and musicians from Opera Australia.
Key Dates 5 July - School workshops commence

“I didn’t know much about opera, & the workshops taught me so much about all aspects of the production & performance that are in an Opera.
Writing the libretto & painting the sets was so much fun, I honestly can’t think of anything negative, the whole thing was an amazing experience.”
